How Leiden regulates the connection
From the property boundary it belongs to the municipality
According to the municipality of Leiden, the property connection is the connection from the property boundary up to and including the main sewer. The municipality is responsible for installation, maintenance, unblocking and replacement on municipal land. Everything from your façade to the property boundary is therefore your responsibility.

Canals, courtyards and newer neighbourhoods
In the city centre, there are often long, old connections running beneath a narrow building or courtyard. Sometimes several properties share one pipe to the canal or street. Working space is limited and buildings are often listed; we therefore use the camera beforehand to pinpoint exactly where the problem is, so that as little as possible needs to be opened up.
