From a toilet that keeps running to a complete new shower enclosure: this page shows which problem fits which solution. Our plumber often handles small repairs in a single visit; for tiling and bathrooms we work with a regular tiler from our network.
In brief
A running toilet or leaking cistern is usually a worn seal and quick to fix. You should renew sealant work and grout if they stay black, crack or come loose, before water gets behind the tiles. For a walk-in shower or renovation you receive a price per item.
- Toilet keeps running or leaks behind the wall: concealed cistern leaking.
- Sealant black or loose: replace bathroom sealant work.
- Shower tray out: have a walk-in shower installed.
- Entire bathroom: costs per item.

Toilet problems
Most work on toilets involves the cistern: that's where seals and valves wear out.

Tap leaking, dripping or needs replacing
A dripping tap is almost always a worn washer or cartridge. With an older tap, replacement is sometimes cheaper than repair, especially if the cartridge can no longer be loosened. On repairing a leaking tap you can read what you can do yourself. If you want a new tap, thermostatic tap or cloakroom basin, see bathroom fixtures and taps.
Low pressure on one tap? It's often a calcified aerator or a half-closed stop valve under the basin. Low pressure throughout the house has a different cause; see low water pressure: causes.

Frequently asked questions about toilet, tap & bathroom
My concealed toilet keeps running. Does the wall need opening?
Almost never. Behind the flush plate there is an opening through which we can access the fill valve and flush mechanism. More on concealed cistern leaking.
What does fitting a wall-hung toilet cost?
With stud wall and concealed cistern according to our price list € 1,265 excl. VAT (€ 1,530.65 incl.), plus call-out charge. Tiling around the new wall is extra if required.
How often does sealant work need replacing?
That depends on use and ventilation. Replace it if it stays black after cleaning, cracks or comes loose. Waiting until water gets behind the tiles is more expensive.
Can you replace one cracked tile?
Yes, even if you do not have spare tiles; we will then find the best possible matching tile. Send a photo with the dimensions.
What does a bathroom renovation cost?
That depends on what is involved. On bathroom renovation costs you will find the individual components with our prices.
