Plastering makes a wall or ceiling flat and smooth again, ready for paint or wallpaper. We plaster over old layers where possible and remove them where necessary, for example if the old plasterwork sounds hollow or is coming loose. After a leak we only repair the ceiling once the source is resolved and everything is dry.

What does a plasterer cost?

We calculate plastering to measure, per m² and depending on the substrate and finish. Send photos and dimensions, then you'll receive a price in advance.

What is the difference between ready for painting and ready for wallpapering?

Ready for painting is finished more smoothly, so you can apply latex paint directly. Ready for wallpapering may be slightly less smooth, because wallpaper covers minor imperfections.

How long does plaster need to dry?

Allow approximately one week per centimetre of layer thickness, depending on ventilation and temperature.

Can old spray plaster contain asbestos?

Spray plaster, textured paint and decorative plaster from before 1994 may contain asbestos. If in doubt, have a sample tested before sanding, chiselling or demolishing. Plastering over an intact layer is often possible; we'll discuss this in advance.
